“Cheaters are cowards that are tempted to chase the fantasy of what could be instead of courageously addressing their own self-destructive behaviour and cultivating what is”- Steve Maraboli
Cheating is a disease that nobody has really found a cure for. It is like a raven that hovers above many relationships waiting to prey on someone. Thousands of relationships have been ended due to unfaithful partners. Why do people struggle to be loyal to one partner?
One of the most hurtful things when being cheated on is when one begins to question oneself and not being able to get answers or to reach a conclusion. Questions like, “What does he or she have that I don’t? Why wasn’t I sufficient for my partner? When did my partner start cheating?”. These questions often lead to heartbreaks, self-doubt, low self-esteem, depression and even suicide.
The media has exposed many individuals who have cheated and it caused a stir because it was not expected and because they are prominent. They spilled the beans about Jay Z cheating on Beyoncé, Scott Disick cheating on Kourtney Kardashian, Maps allegedly cheating on Nomzamo Mbatha and the most recent one: Offset cheating on Cardi B. This just shows that no matter how successful a woman is, how caring, loyal and honest a woman can be a man is still bound to cheat.
Is it lack of morals? Intoxication? Mistake? Inability to resist temptation? Or is it just in our DNA? Was man actually born to cheat ?
